VISION
The main aim of the program is to train qualified architects with knowledge and skills in designing and applying living spaces of different scales and qualities according to the needs of society and individuals, in addition to the technical information required for this, architectural culture is internalised and aware that architecture is an art branch at the same time and core to design, history and theory practices, analytical thinking, defining the problem from a critical point of view, producing problem-solving solutions. It is aimed to provide an architectural education process that is open to new approaches against to changing problems, follows developments in this direction, and enables to be used with contributing to them.
The architectural design studio is located at the center of the education. Different lectures support the studios through knowledge and skills. From the beginning of the education process, the multidisciplinary nature of the field of architecture must be considered. In this context, it is essential to develop the ability to establish relationships between fields such as creative arts, technical information, and social sciences. The student must acquire the ability to respond with original solutions by grasping the interdisciplinary dimension of each problem. The content and structure of the program has been determined in accordance with the following objectives:
- Develop effective skills in architectural design.
- To internalise architectural culture.
- Getting technical information.
- Integrating architecture and urban design.
MISSION
Architecture is a space design science. It is the art and science of building with aesthetic creativity, combining the areas necessary to make people's life easier and meet their space needs with technical and economic possibilities. It can be assumed that the need for the architectural profession is increasing day by day according to the fact that the environment and natural resources are threatened with the changing needs of the human and the constantly increasing population on the earth. Parallel to this assumption, the number of architecture schools in our country and in the world is also increasing. The fact that the design process is compatible and sustainable with natural resources is very important in terms of the future of people on the world.
In the department of architecture, with the aim of providing education by considering current technological developments in the field together with social responsibility, it is aimed to educate intellectual individuals who are flexible, critical and creative thinkers. Furthermore it is aimed to gain cultural, technological and occupational information infrastructure which is capable of understanding, discussing and interpreting the general architectural issues, having a high level of research and learning motivation, advanced communication and organizational skills, social and cultural awareness and sensitivity, internalising ethical and aesthetic values.
